Maserati is making its presence felt in the U.S. after years on the margins.

The 100-year-old Fiat-owned maker of Italian sports cars is offering a combination of new and redesigned sedans, opening dealers and spending more on advertising.

Maserati’s growth is directly benefiting Chrysler workers in Trenton, Mich., where they manufacture about 72 engine blocks a day that are shipped to Italy for Maseratis. Workers in Kokomo, Ind., cast aluminum engine blocks for the Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans.
