IRVINE, Calif. (September 8, 2016) – The Mazda Foundation (USA), Inc. believes strongly in helping furry friends who find themselves neglected or homeless. Mazda Foundation recently presented the local, independent SPCA for Monterey County with a generous $30,000 donation to help injured, orphaned, or neglected animals in need and to support SPCA response during the Soberanes Fire.
“Mazda, our racers, and the Mazda Foundation are proud supporters of the SPCA for Monterey County,” said Masahiro Moro, president of Mazda North American Operations. “We are hoping that this latest gift will help the SPCA for Monterey County to care for the more than 200 animals it has taken in since the Soberanes Fire started.”
With the SPCA for Monterey County and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca located just across Highway 68 from each other, Mazda and its employees have been longtime supporters of the SPCA. Since 2007, Mazda Motorsports has worked hand-in-paw with the SPCA to promote shelter adoptions at select race weekends.
