I was excited to hear about the “Here for America” initiative, as it gives me an opportunity to share with you my appreciation for international automakers and the tremendous impact the industry has made on the state of Georgia.
With the latest additions of two North American Headquarters, Mercedes-Benz USA and Porsche Cars North America, there are now 15 global automakers facilities in the state, leading to over $2.9 billion invested in Georgia. Along with new investments, long-term relationships with companies such as Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia out of West Point, have allowed the industry to thrive and create nearly 70,000 jobs for Georgians.
Housing the world’s busiest international airport in Hartsfield-Jackson International, as well as the fastest growing port of the United States in Savannah, I am looking forward to the promising future of automobile manufacturing plants, headquarters, sales and training centers, and other related facilities.
I want to express my thanks to the “Here for America” initiative, as it highlights the accomplishments of the thriving automaker industry not just in the United States, but right here in Georgia. We will continue to be steadfast in our partnerships with international automakers, who have played a huge role in making Georgia the #1 state in the nation in which to do business.
