Students Build Robots at Annual Lipscomb/Nissan Robotics Camps

During this year’s 2018 Lipscomb/Nissan Robotics Camps, students toured the Nissan plant in Smyrna and the St. Thomas Hospital robotics surgical suite. Students also learned the basics of engineering and other valuable STEM concepts, sometimes from Nissan engineers. They learned about electrical circuits, batteries, switches, DC motors, programming and robotic arm- and hand-actuators, among other things.

Since 2010, Nissan has donated more than $580,000 to fund the summer Lipscomb/Nissan BisonBot Robotics Camps and the annual Music City BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) competition, both held at Lipscomb, in the fall.
