Statement by John Bozzella, President and CEO of Global Automakers and spokesperson for Here For America

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 17, 2019 – “Negotiated outcomes are always preferable to taxing American consumers and manufacturers, and Here For America companies are pleased that the U.S. and Mexico were able to come to an agreement that did not include tariffs or other restraints on the American economy.

“Existing tariffs and the threat of new tariffs are already slowing manufacturing jobs in America, so it is our hope that the two nations are on a continued path of long-term certainty and stability.”
